Smart City announces six employee promotions
Las Vegas, Nevada, August 27, 2007 - Smart City would like to announce that six of its employees have been promoted at five of its facilities on and around the West Coast.
Laureen Boykin has been named Director of Quality Assurance of Smart City’s corporate office in Las Vegas. In her new role, Boykin will focus on field training and developing quality operating management programs. She has spent the past 11 years successfully managing Smart City’s operations at the San Diego Convention Center (SDCC). During that time, she has worked tirelessly to improve and grow the business, increase revenues and help the company negotiate its long-term agreement with the SDCC.
Julia Slocombe has been named Smart City’s General Manager of the SDCC. She was the general manager for the past nine years for the Santa Clara Convention Center (SCCC) in Santa Clara, Calif., where she was instrumental in negotiating an exclusive agreement between Smart City and the Santa Clara Convention Center. At the SDCC, she will continue to manage several large scale events and projects each year.
Angela Lee was promoted to Manager, Marketing and Sales of Smart City’s corporate office in Las Vegas. She previously worked in the sales and marketing department of Priority Networks, the company that Smart City purchased in August 2006. She is responsible for overseeing both Smart City and Priority Network’s marketing, advertising and public relations efforts.
Dana Goldberg was promoted to Priority Networks’ Facility Manager for the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center in Long Beach, Calif. She previously worked three years as an event coordinator for Priority Networks. In her new position, she will be responsible for handling client services, with a focus on those that have special show requirements.
Grant Baker was promoted to Data Manager for Smart City at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC). Baker has extensive network experience and has worked with the Smart City LVCC team during the last two years of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). He previously worked for the company’s operations team at the Dallas Convention Center.
Emiliano Fernandez has been promoted to Smart City’s General Manager of the SCCC. He previously worked with Priority Networks at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco as an event technician supervisor where he supervised the technical team and managed the equipment installation during several technology events. In his new position, he will oversee all of the events that come to the SCCC.
